The European Commission Host Organization (ECHO) has recently released a new, upgraded version of its WATCH (Windows Access to Central Host) application which allows access to more of the ECHO databases.

WATCH is a Windows application which provides easy access to the ECHO on-line databases via a modem, X.25 connection, Internet or your Local Area Network, and off-line via CD-ROM. Running on any standard PC equipped with Microsoft Windows 3.1 WATCH hides the complexity of the CCL (Common Command Language) behind a user-friendly graphical interface. In addition to the standard WATCH features, WATCH Version 2.00 also offers:

- Multiple term selection within a pre-downloaded or remote index;
- Copy/paste facility for your search queries;
- The availability of more information files;
- The possibility of connecting to your personal e-mail system;
- The download of updates and changes on-line through WATCH.

The WATCH application has been devised to work in conjunction with the I'M Guide CD-ROM which contains information on database hosts, producers and gateways available in Europe. This database now includes an "Advertisement" section which provides information on organization wishing to advertise their services.
