The European Commission, DG III, plans to publish a call for project proposals in the area of standardization and the Information Society, within the framework of Council Decision 87/95/EEC. Work domains which are currently envisaged include electronic commerce, multimedia systems, teleworking and health-care networks.

The call is expected to be published in the Official Journal in the period from the beginning of August to mid-September 1996, with a deadline for the submission of proposals in the first half of October 1996.
