Socio-economic activities undertaken within the Fourth Framework Programme - 1995
The Council Decision establishing the specific RTD programme in the field of Targeted Socio-economic Research (TSER) also envisaged a regular exchange of information on socio-economic activities undertaken in other specific programmes of the Fourth Framework Programme. DG XII of the European Commission, responsible for the TSER programme, has published a book outlining activities in this area during 1995. The book, which is expected to be updated annually, provides details of projects and activities undertaken in the other specific programmes which relate to socio-economic issues. The book distinguishes between programmes in their approach to the subject. While some present socio-economic activities as a specific theme in the Work Programme, others adopt an approach where socio-economic activities are embedded in each project. In addition, accompanying measures in many programmes, such as support to conferences and studies, also contribute to socio-economic analysis.
