TMR Research Networks - Vacancies for researchers
The European Commission, DG XII, has announced that over 1,000 research positions will be made available for young European researchers in the next two or three years, as a result of the specific programme in the field of Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR). The positions, which are open to young scientists (under 35 years old) from the EU Member States, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Norway, allow the holders to carry out research in high-quality scientific teams in other countries. The Commission has selected 96 networks, involving over 750 teams, to host young researchers. In total some 1,000 positions, lasting between one and three years will be sponsored by the TMR programme. Positions will be available in a wide variety of disciplines, including engineering, pure and natural sciences and social sciences. Examples of work being undertaken by participating networks are: - Developing new techniques for control of malaria; - Improving the earthquake resistance of buildings; - Developing intelligent robots; - Combining animation with virtual reality; - Increasing the mobility of paraplegics.
