MAST programme - New information brochure
The European Commission, DG XII, has recently published a new brochure which outlines the activities and aims of the specific RTD programme in the field of Marine Science and Technology (MAST). The MAST programme supports cooperative European research in three major areas: - Marine science; - Strategic marine research; - Marine technology. Examples of areas addressed by projects undertaken under the MAST programme include the preservation of ecosystems in the Mediterranean, the interactions between the ocean and coastal areas in the Atlantic, mapping of the ocean floor, and the construction of a remotely-controlled vehicle for deep sea exploration.
