MEDIA II - Incentives for screening of European films
The European Commission, DG X, has published a call for proposals aimed at supporting the setting up of a network of cinemas for the screening of European films. The call is published under the "MEDIA II - Development and Distribution" programme, which supports the development and distribution of European audiovisual productions. The call is aimed at providing an incentive to cinema operators such that a significant number of European films may be screened in first-release commercial cinemas over a minimum screening period. European cinema operators may apply to the Commission for the necessary documents for the preparation of a proposal for obtaining a Community financial contribution.
