Evaluation and review of JOULE/THERMIE projects
The European Commission, DG XVII, has published a call for expressions of interest relating to technical assistance for the review and evaluation of projects within the THERMIE (demonstration) component of the Community's specific programme in the field of Non-nuclear Energy (JOULE/THERMIE). The Commission wishes to establish a list of potential contractors to carry out the following tasks: - Technical assistance in the evaluation of proposals submitted in response to calls for proposals for the THERMIE component of the programme; - Technical assistance to EC staff in the review of THERMIE projects at regular review meetings concerning the project, review of project reports or review of project plans. These tasks will cover projects and project proposals in the various fields of the programme: - Rational use of energy; - Introduction of renewable energies into Europe's energy systems; - Improved production and conversion and cleaner utilization of fossil fuels; - Development of energy RTD strategies; - Information dissemination and technology transfer; - Technological support to SMEs. The Commission will select appropriate candidates, from the list of those eligible responding to the expression of interest, to carry out tasks as and when they occur. Contracts will not, as a rule, exceed 30 days per year.
