Web interface for ocean science
The Demonstrator for INteroperability of Oceanographic CATalogues will make searching through databases much easier with a one point searching facility from a web interface. The DINOCAT demonstrator contains a guidance catalogue to help the browser create a query for searching the separate databases. Once submitted, the format of the request is changed to suit the receiving databases. The results obtained are returned to the original point of reference to be displayed in a consistent format. DINOCAT will aid researchers and casual browsers alike by providing a wide information base on oceanic sciences. The user need only search one location instead of several therefore saving valuable time and effort.
