Bridging the pedagogical gap
The PCM (Pedagogical Content Manager) allows end users to conduct personalised searches according to profile and segment features. The architecture of the tool is open and standardised making it flexible enough to meet any organisational requirements. PCM uses the LRM (Learner/Student Relationship Management) methodology that is founded on the belief that pedagogy, technology and business are intertwined in today's learning models. The goal of LRM methodology is to expand learning capacity without any socio-economic interference. Thus individuals can learn more and better because their requirements have been understood and met. The tool is able to meet user needs through the unique functions it provides. For example, it has a reference database that is easy to use and accessible via the internet with any Web browser. Furthermore, multi-language editors can be used to populate and edit the database. The searching services are advanced and innovative taking into account learner profiles, characteristics and behaviours. Additionally the PCM tool can be widely incorporated and distributed. In fact, the PCM tool has already been implemented for its LRM training techniques in the aerospace industry, directed at pilots, maintenance technicians and engineers. Once the tool has been further exploited for its internal potential, it could be proposed commercially and integrated with tier system scenarios.
