New version of Watch-CORDIS to support Italian and Spanish News
CORDIS, the European Community's R&D Information Service, has released a new version of Watch-CORDIS, which in addition to English, French and German, now supports the Italian and Spanish versions of the RTD-News database. Watch-CORDIS (Windows Access to Central Host-CORDIS) is an easy-to-use, sophisticated tool for accessing the CORDIS databases. For users who wish to do complex searches as well as be able to configure input and output to their exact needs, Watch-CORDIS offers an alternative to the database access via the CORDIS World Wide Web server. Watch-CORDIS supports connections via Telnet, PSDN (e.g. X.25) and direct dial. Watch-CORDIS hides the complexity of communication with the database host behind a user-friendly GUI (graphical user interface) and gives easy access to information, allowing interrogation of the databases at the click of a mouse. The new version, Ver. 2.03 of Watch-CORDIS can be downloaded from the CORDIS Web site at: http://cordis.europa.eu/cordis/watchc.html(odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie) Use rs of earlier versions of the Watch-CORDIS software are advised to install the new version in the same directory as the one already installed. In this way there will be no need to reconfigure any of the connection/script files.
