The European Communities' Statistical Office has published an invitation to tender for statistical services in the field of environment policy.

The work relates to the framework programme for priority projects in the field of statistical information (1993-1997), and is divided into two lots:

- Lot 1: Development of a database system for the calculation of indicators of environmental pressure caused by transport;
- Lot 2: Statistical support and diffusion of indicators of environmental pressure caused by transport.

Applicants may tender for one or both lots. Contracts will initially be concluded for one year, starting in late 1997 or early 1998, and may be extended twice for a further one-year period.
