The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender relating to the setting up of a coordination centre for the mandatory reporting of air incidents - the European Coordination Centre for Aircraft Incident Reporting Systems (ECCAIRS). The invitation to tender relates to the fourth phase of this project. The aim of this phase is to bring the existing ECCAIRS system to a stable operational level enabling, on the one hand, the regular transfer of information relating to incidents in Member States on the basis of procedures established and accepted by all participants and, on the other hand, the dissemination of information and results from incident analyses.
