Commission awards ECU 149 million to transport projects in Spain
The European Commission has approved ECU 149 million in aid, from the Cohesion Fund, for two transport infrastructure projects in Spain. The Atalaya del Cañavete-Motilla del Palancar section of the Madrid-Valencia motorway will receive ECU 102 million and the Benavente-Camarzana de Tera section of the Rias Bajas motorway ECU 47 million. The total eligible cost of these two projects is ECU 175 million of which the Cohesion Fund will contribute 85%. Work on both projects is expected to be completed by the end of 1999.
