Assessing the 'Design for all' approach for the integration of disabled and elderly people in the Information Society
The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a study on assessing the 'Design for all' approach for the integration of disabled and elderly people in the Information Society. The purpose is to: - Study the awareness of the 'design for all' approach (which promotes the design and manufacture of mainstream consumer products and services fulfilling usability requirements for everybody, including older customers and customers with disabilities) in ICT-related large businesses and SMEs; - Identify examples of 'good practice' of the implementation of the approach in the ICT market-related fields; - Provide recommendations for strategies which will increase the application of the 'design for all' principle in the Information Society's products and services.
