Participation of women researchers in the HCM and TMR programmes
The European Commission, DG XII, has published an invitation to tender relating to the performance of a study examining the participation of women researchers in the Community's Human Capital and Mobility (HCM) and Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) specific programmes. This invitation to tender, launched within the framework of the TMR programme, is aimed at gathering relevant information on the role and position of women researchers in both the TMR programme and its predecessor (HCM). Particular attention will be given to the award of research grants. The successful tenderer will be required to carry out the following tasks: - Provide a documentary study of current texts and documents in all European Union Member States and Associated States (i.e. Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Norway) involving the role of women in research; - Describe and analyse national initiatives and programmes involving the participation of women in research activities; - Analyse and interpret statistical data relating to the HCM and TMR programmes to be supplied by the European Commission along with studies and reports in this field drawn up for the Commission; - Hold discussions with a representative sample of women researchers who have successfully or unsuccessfully applied for a 'Marie Curie' grant; - Draw up conclusions and make recommendations to the Commission aimed at increasing the participation of women researchers. The contract will cover a period of 14 months.
