Support to EC HIV/AIDS activities in Egypt
The European Commission, DG VIII, has published a call for expressions of interest relating to the provision of support to the EC's HIV/AIDS activities in Egypt. The Commission invites registered consultancy companies and institutions (excluding NGOs) with relevant experience and expertise to express their interest in participating in a restricted tender for the services of a management and development unit for EC-supported HIV/AIDS activities in Egypt. Three activities have already been identified by the Commission: - Providing a confidential HIV/AIDS information source in two urban centres in Egypt; - Providing a support structure for people living with HIV and those at high risk of infection; - Collecting accurate information on the extent of STDs in the general population. The services will comprise technical support in the preparation of project proposals with local partners, monitoring of projects, project technical assistance and project management. The contractor does not need to have offices in Cairo but this would be an asset. The contract is expected to cover a period of two years, with an estimated budget of ECU 800,000, including ECU 270,000 for technical support. Expressions of interest, including detailed information on the experience of the interested organization or the grouping of organizations in the field of HIV/AIDS in developing countries, should be sent, by mail or facsimile, to: European Commission DG VIII - Development Ms. D.
