The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender relating to the integration of intermodal transport in supply chains.

The European Commission has decided to launch a fact-finding exercise which should address the following items:

- Identification of opportunities for creating logistics added value during the intermodal freight transport haul;
- The creation of an intermodal freight transport competitiveness index;
- Dissemination of the results of the above-mentioned items.

The work required is to be carried out over a period of 20 months from the date of signature of the contract.

The potential contractor's competence will be checked on the basis of the following criteria:

- Proven experience in the areas of logistics and supply chain management;
- Proven experience in the area of transport and more specifically intermodal freight transport;
- Proven experience in the area of market reviews and economic modelling.
