The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender concerning the evaluation of initiatives to promote and improve recycling of waste.

The Commission is awarding a study contract for the following:

- a) Identification of relevant recycling initiatives in the 15 Member States;
- b) Classification of the above identified recycling initiatives;
- c) Evaluation of the recycling initiatives listed under a) and b);
- d) Recommendations for further actions.

The study is to be carried out in the context of the European Community Waste Management Policy. Work must be completed within 12 months from the date of signature of the contract.
