CEN Conference: Pressure Equipment in Europe

The European Committee for Standardization announces an international conference about pressure equipment in Brussels on 19-20 November 2002, supported by EPERC - the European Pressure Equipment Research Council.

The conference focuses on unfired pressure vessels but will also consider all equipment in relation to the Directive 97/23/EC. EN 13445 for Unfired pressure vessels is a key standard that will unify the different codes that currently exist in Europe and provides a powerful tool for European industry to manufacture safe pressure equipment at an economic cost.
Together with more than 40 European Standards for boilers, pipes and flanges, as well as supporting standards for materials, welding and testing, EN 13445 enables manufacturers to meet the 'essential requirements' for pressure equipment laid down in the directive, which came fully into force on 29 May 2002. The conference will also discuss issues of conformity assessment.
