ESPRIT success stories for the Information Society
"ESPRIT success stories for the Information Society" is a new set of fact sheets published by the European Union's Information Society research programme, ESPRIT. The ESPRIT programme is aimed at responding to user requirements and encouraging faster and wider take-up of information technologies. Four separate groups of fact sheets demonstrate the breadth of achievements of EU-funded research projects in the information technologies field. The four series are: - ESPRIT results: outlining successful products, processes or services; - ESPRIT in business: successful applications of results generated by ESPRIT projects; - Companies in ESPRIT: the benefits to companies from participation in ESPRIT; - ESPRIT initiatives: special actions supported by ESPRIT to promote innovation and best practice in the field of information technologies. The fact sheets contain brief details of the work undertaken and results achieved by each of the projects. In addition, full contact details are included to encourage dissemination and take-up of the results. Much of the information included in the fact sheets can also be found on the PROSOMA World Wide Web service, developed by ESPRIT to assist in dissemination of research results.
