Sectorial Meeting AL-Invest e-commerce y seguridad
The event lasts three days and consists of a seminar and pre-arranged bilateral meetings among the participant companies, according to their profiles, products and expressed interests. Experience has shown that from these meetings many business opportunities arise: Joint ventures, distribution agreements, transfer of the most advanced technology or even just close co-operation between companies. > e-commerce and security The European Software Institute, main operator of this project, is organising an AL-Invest business meeting on e-commerce and security which will focus on the sub-sectors: e-commerce, internet/intranet, knowledge management, tele-education and security. Security is the pending problem in the world of Internet and is still to be solved. It is therefore one of the greatest problems we face when trying to implant a global, worldwide Information Society. It is the key element in the development and growth of Internet, the catalyst of the "New Economy" and companies' long-term viability depends entirely on security on the web. > When and where? This business meeting, within the framework of the sector ICT for SMEs, is a platform for the technological and economic exchange between computing sectors from both regions and will be held in Bilbao from 2nd to 4th October 2002. It will bring together businessmen from Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela; and from Europe: Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands and United Kingdom. In this particular event 150 European and 50 Latin American companies will take part, trying to make the most of this rare possibility of finding and creating as many business partnerships at once. > Who and how to participate? Companies wishing to participate must be SMEs (according to the definition of the EC) and have activities or be interested in extending activities to one or more of the above-mentioned sectors. The European Commission supports and finances the organisation of the event. The only costs that participants need to cover are travel and accommodation expenses.
