Innovation, creation of enterprises and employment - Meeting of European innovators
At the initiative of Mrs. Edith Cresson, Commissioner responsible for research, innovation, education, training and youth, a meeting of Europe's leading innovators will be held in Paris, France, on 9 December 1997. The meeting is a first step in an ambitious project launched by Mrs. Cresson with the aim of seeking new solutions for the promotion of innovation and the creation of enterprises and employment in Europe. The initiative, confirmed at the European Employment Summit in Luxembourg, will move forward in three phases: - Dialogue: European Round Table (Paris) of contractors, research workers, financiers and representatives of public authorities on the topic "Innovation, creation of highly technological enterprises and employment"; - Analysis: Analysis, during the first quarter of 1998, of the ideas and experiences to emerge from the Paris Round Table; - Action: Organization of a European conference, to be held in summer 1998, which will make a series of proposals for encouraging innovation and fully exploiting Europe's scientific and technical potential.
