Europeanisation of economic research
A report on the "Europeanisation of economic research" has been published by the European Commission, DG XII, following a study funded by the Human Capital and Mobility (HCM) research programme. The report addresses different aspects of economics in Europe such as: money and capital, the labour market, industrial economics and the transformation of post-communist economies. Altogether, seven areas of European economic research are described and analysed in the form of essays giving the authors' personal views rather than general answers. Furthermore, each essay looks at the trends in Europe and at how EU funding has influenced the discipline. The study also reviews the scientific impact of EU projects from programmes such as SPES (Stimulation Plan for Economic Science) and ACE (Action for Cooperation in Economics).
