Reducing emissions from heavy goods vehicles
The European Commission has put forward a proposal for a Directive aimed at reducing gaseous and particulate emissions from diesel-powered heavy goods vehicles. The proposal will introduce a reduction of 30% in current norms relating to emissions of gaseous pollutants and particles produced by diesel-powered heavy goods vehicles. The proposed measures are part of the Commission's Auto Oil environmental research programme which aims to determine the optimum package of measures which will make it possible to reach the Community's objectives for air quality.
