Community support for cultural development projects - Call for proposals 1998
The European Commission, DG X, has published its 1998 call for proposals for cultural development projects eligible to receive Community support. Under this call, and in accordance with Community cultural policy, the Commission is planning to give financial support to artistic and cultural projects, to projects to protect European cultural heritage and to European umbrella organizations in the arts, culture and cultural heritage sectors. The four Action areas to be supported by the Commission are as follows: - Action 1: Support for cultural and artistic projects with a European dimension; - Action 2: Support for projects to enhance public awareness and give wider access to cultural heritage; - Action 3: Support for European cooperation projects carried out through networks or in partnership; - Action 4: Support for European umbrella organizations active in the arts, culture and cultural heritage fields. As the Commission's wish is to support sufficiently big projects with a significant impact, requests for funding should concern actions with a total budget of ECU 100,000 or more. The Commission contribution may not exceed 50% of the cost of the operation. Financing will only apply to projects implemented in 1998.
