"Institute for Europe" in Japan - Feasibility study
The European Commission, DG I, has published an invitation to tender concerning a feasibility study on an "Institute for Europe" in Japan. Whilst EU-Japan relations are developing steadily across many domains, Europe, and its role in international affairs, is still far from being visible and understood in Japan. To address this issue, the Commission would like to conduct a feasibility study to find out whether this situation can be overcome by: - Creating a platform, in the form of an "Institute for Europe" in Japan, which would give visibility to EU-Japan relations; - Facilitating contacts between European and Japanese decision-makers; - Reinforcing the image of Europe in Japan through appropriate initiatives. The study should also examine, should such a need be confirmed, how such a platform should be structured, managed and financed. The work should be completed within six months. Tender documents may be obtained from: European Commission DG I - External relations Mr. Richard C.
