Third European Forum on Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Multimedia Law

The European Lawyers' Union is organizing the third European Forum on Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Multimedia Law, to be held in Luxembourg, on 18 and 19 June 1998. Held under the auspices of the European Commission's Legal Advisory Board which advises on legal aspects of the Information Society, the forum aims to discuss the most recent legal trends in sectors of rapid evolution, which are becoming increasingly important areas of practice.

The forum will comprise a number of presentations delivered by representatives of the European Commission, national governments, industry, and academia, under the following headings:

- Telecommunications: opening to competition - the first steps;
- Multimedia: new technologies, new regulatory issues;
- Information technologies: electronic commerce issues;
- Towards convergence.
