EUROCALL'98 - From classroom teaching to worldwide learning
ICT has had a major impact on both learning and teaching and has led to a more student-oriented approach towards learning, with the role of the teacher becoming one of a facilitator, a guide in the learning process. The aim of this conference is to demonstrate how present day computer-assisted language learning (CALL) guides a student towards a worldwide learning attitude.
Key features of the conference will include the following:
- Presentation on the integration of ICT in the language curriculum;
- Presentation on new language learning strategies and their influence on courseware design, including ICT developments and their implications for new language learning strategies;
- Pre-conference workshops to examine software applications such as HTML and JAVA, Authorware, Multimedia Toolbook and Win Calis;
- Series of presentations on research in the field of language teaching methodology and ICT;
- Presentation and demonstration by developers of new software;
- Ongoing demonstration fair of language learning software and language related multimedia applications.
