Innovation in the textile industry

Bayern Innovativ, a partner in the South German Innovation Relay Centre, is organizing a symposium and exhibition on innovation in the textile industry, to be held in Ingolstadt, Germany, on 15 July 1998.

The aim of the symposium is to provide a platform for the transfer of information and expertise in the textile industry and to attract new users of textile materials from other industries. The industries present will include the construction, environmental, medical engineering, energy and biotechnology industries.

The topics to be covered during the symposium will include the following:

- Economic significance of the textile industry and prospects for the future;
- Trends in the use of textiles;
- Innovation through technology transfer;
- Textiles in cars and other transport;
- Textiles in construction and geotechnology;
- Textiles in medical and environmental technology.
