EuroSun'98 - Congress on solar energy

EuroSun'98, the second in a series of international congresses on solar energy, will be held in Portoroz, Slovenia, from 14 to 17 September 1998. The event will be organised by the International Solar Energy Society, with support from the European Commission, DG XVII, within the framework of the THERMIE programme for the promotion of energy technology in Europe. The Slovenian Ministries of Economic Affairs, Science and Technology, and Environment and Physical Planning, and the UN Economic Commission for Europe will also participate in the organisation of the event.

The overall aim is to employ a trans-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach to construct vertical and horizontal connections between the fields of new technology architecture and new materials.

The event will comprise scientific presentations, an industrial exhibition, business forum, and the ninth international workshop on transparent insulation. In addition, an architectural forum will be held in order to bring industrial development closer to new technologies and practice.

The industrial exhibition, open to the general public, will provide an opportunity for experts and commercial representatives, their associations and chambers of commerce to display the latest technologies and services in the field of renewable and alternative energy sources and energy efficiency.
