Facilitating participation in the Fifth Framework Programme

The Austrian Bureau for International Research and Technology Cooperation (BIT) will organise an executive level event to identify operational measures needed for facilitating the participation of the ten associated countries and Cyprus in the thematic and horizontal programmes of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The event will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 23 and 24 November 1998.

The aim of the conference is twofold:

- To formulate policy recommendations for performing relevant information and assistance activities directly via the national science systems;
- To formulate recommendations for the European Commission, proposing ideas for accompanying measures for inclusion in the work programme of the specific RTD programme in the field of international cooperation.
