Process modelling

An international conference on process modelling will be held in Cottbus, Germany, from 22 to 24 February 1999. The conference will bring together researchers and practitioners from specialist fields such as manufacturing, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, social sciences and economics, in order to stimulate an interdisciplinary discussion on universally valid foundations and techniques in modelling.

Simulation in the field of process development and process management is regarded as a strategic tool, and the conference intends to contribute to decision support regarding the construction of process modelling, and to initiate an interdisciplinary structuring process.

A range of problems associated with process modelling will be discussed:

- The theoretical foundations of process modelling;
- Modelling techniques;
- Advanced modelling;
- Application systems.
