Information technology and teacher education

SITE'99, the tenth annual conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education, will be held in Texas, USA, from 28 February to 4 March 1999. This society represents individual teacher educators and affiliated organisations of teacher educators in all disciplines who are interested in the creation and dissemination of knowledge on the use of information technology in teacher education and faculty development.

The conference will focus on the issues and practical aspects related to the planning, administration, and management of technological innovations in education. It will also cover all topics related to the use of information technology in teacher education and instruction on information technology at a pre-service, in-service and graduate teacher level as well as faculty and staff development. Other topics will cover the application of information technology to teaching young children, those with special needs and for those requiring distance learning.
