International cultural heritage informatics
The meeting will explore a full range of interactive multimedia issues, covering technological, legal, economic, organisational and design concerns. These will be discussed from the perspective of museums and cultural heritage applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Impact of information technology on existing institutions;
- Authenticity and quality in cultural heritage information;
- Outreach and new modes of communication;
- Collaborations, partnerships and income production;
- The implications of converging technologies;
- Dissemination and access methods.
The event will also feature a museum project demonstration fair, a commercial exhibition and series of pre-conference workshops. The workshops will provide learning opportunities at levels ranging from introductory to advanced, in a range of formats including hands-on computer training, lectures, seminars and interactive group sessions.
