Media invited to understand sustainable development

The European University for the Environment (UEE) has organised a meeting, "The media and sustainable development" in Brest, France, between 17 and 22 May 1999.

There, journalists and media professionals will:

- Exchange their know-how and experience of the issues;
- Question political and economics officials and representatives of society;
- Familiarize themselves with new practices in news handling in relation to sustainable development;
- Open up new paths of action for the future.

There will also be a training session for 25 to 30 young journalists (who are enrolled in schools of journalism or who have recently started work).
