The final conference on the COST (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research) ACTION C2 on "Large scale infrastructures and quality of urban shape" will be held in Lyon, France, on 10 and 11 June 1999.
The conference will summarize the achievements of the action, which include work in the following areas:
- Infrastructures and aesthetical qualities, on the small and large scales;
- Infrastructures related to the sociology and the economy of places;
- An infrastructure project is valuable by its process;
- Best practices and recommendations.
The event is being organised and sponsored by the Centre for studies on urban planning, transport, utilities and public constructions (CERTU, France) and the Urban Civil Engineering Cost Programme.
