Two debates conclude the Green Paper on Public Sector Information

Two further public debates on the European Commission's Green Paper on Public Sector Information in the Information Society will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, and Reykjavik, Iceland, on 20 May 1999. These two events will conclude the MIDAS-NET initiative to raise awareness and stimulate discussion on the subject.

The MIDAS-NET Node in Portugal will organise an event in Lisbon, which will involve participants from the Commission's DG XIII. Those present will represent various sectors with a particular interest in the issues related to access to public sector information.

The same goes for the seminar in Reykjavik, which will also include contributions from representatives of DG XIII.

This series of information meetings and debates in various European countries will culminate in a public hearing organised by the European Commission in Brussels on 25 May 1999.
