An international conference on Commercialisation of microsystems will be held in Dortmund, Germany, from 7 to 10 July 1999. The city has been chosen because its is home to one of the largest concentrations of microsystems companies in Europe. The event will provide a forum for industrial suppliers and users of microtechnical products to exchange information about their experiences.

Discussions at the conference will also focus on manufacturing, packaging and interconnections.

The event is designed to assist companies in every facet of commercialising microsystems technologies, from high-tech start up companies and world-wide leaders in microsystems to potential or existing users of microsystems.

The programme includes sessions on:

- MST markets as the centre point of commercialisation;
- Infrastructure developments - industrial foundries;
- Infrastructure developments - equipment;
- Bottlenecks: Assembly, standards, metrology, and testing;
- EDA/CAD;
- Users and potential users: medical, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, biology, genetics, auto/off road, home products, industry, information, communication technology, patents and finance.
