Renewable energy business seminars
The seminars will take place at the following locations:
- 1 to 2 November: Sunderland, United Kingdom;
- 8 to 9 November 1999: Florence, Italy;
- 15 to 16 November 1999: Munich, Germany.
The seminars are being organised in response to the rapid expansion of the renewable energy technology and service markets, which offer a great variety of business opportunities. The organisers, from the European Commission, Germany, Italy and Greece, believe that many SMEs, including those already active in the renewable energies market, are unaware of the extent of the market on a transnational scale. The series of business seminars will provide companies with access to relevant state of the art information on the renewable energy market, as well as on funding opportunities, they say.
Each seminar will focus on the photovoltaic, biomass, wind energy and small hydro sectors. The main topics of each seminar will include:
- Present and future markets for renewable energy technologies;
- EU programmes available for support of R&D and commercialisation;
- Sources of information for SMEs;
- Financing an SMEs entry into a new lager market;
- Advice and assistance available from the European Commission.
An international team of experts will give presentations at each seminar.
