ISPCON Europe 2000, a forum for Internet service providers, will take place in London, from 15 to 17 February 2000.

It is a convention addressing those who provide Internet or intranet access and the infrastructure supporting it.

The challenges facing ISPs are becoming more complex, with the number of Internet users rapidly increasing and Internet technologies like WAP and VoIP gaining prominence.

'This is a critical time for ISPs,' says Dr Philip Lakelin, Senior Analyst with Analysys, and a speaker at ISPCON Europe 2000. 'The western European market is in the thick of a major change due to telecom liberalisation and the advance of broadband access technologies. The economics of business are also causing transformations. Pricing changes and free ISPs are provoking a huge move in the market, and increasingly European ISPs are having to find new ways to make money - many of them are feeling their way in the dark.'

The three day conference includes two keynote sessions each day plus technology seminar streams and business strategy streams, with what event organisers call an educational agenda. There is also a major exhibition featuring over 150 ISP-focused exhibitors including Intel, IBM, Compaq, Cisco, Nortel, Telia and more.

The education agenda at ISPCON Europe 2000, gives delegates an opportunity to gain business critical knowledge providing a competitive edge. The agenda also reflects the growing political response to the Internet industry, in particular developments in economic commerce.
