Biotechnology, its use, ethics and future application, will feature in the Biotechnology conference taking place in Rome on 30 to 31 March.

Issues such as biotechnological products' application in third world countries and the ethical and intellectual property rights dimension of their use will be discussed.

Technology transfer to heighten the availability of the biotechnological methods and applications will also figure as will a display giving a background to the rise of biotechnology.

Views from leading academics in the area will be matched by those from biotech production firms.
