An international conference on technology-supported learning and training, Online Educa, will be held in Berlin, Germany, from 29 November to 1 December 2000. The organisers are currently inviting papers for presentation with a deadline for submission of 15 April 2000.
Online Educa is the annual forum of the telelearning industry, and covers a wide range of topics in distance learning including online training in companies, creating and adapting content for technology-enhanced learning and the effective use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in higher education.
Over the last six years, Online-Educa Berlin has established itself as a yearly meeting place for the international community of users, researchers, service providers and managers in the field of technology supported learning. The 1999 conference attracted over 900 participants, including participants from the corporate, higher education, lifelong learning and continuing education sectors.
This year's conference will be organised around the themes of creating content for flexible learning, mobile communication for learning, technology-enhanced language training, ICT in primary and secondary schools, tele-learning initiatives, sustainable IT-based education in developing countries, and SMEs and technology enhanced training.
An accompanying exhibition will feature distance learning management systems, video and audio conferencing equipment, training and education programmes and telelearning projects.
