Fourth European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries

New emerging issues for advanced technology used in digital libraries, together with requirements, proposals, politics and solutions, will be discussed at the Fourth European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries, EDCL 2000.

Taking place on 18 to 20 September 2000 in Lisbon, Portugal, event organisers intend to provide a reference forum, promoting opportunities for the exchange of ideas and knowledge between all the different perspectives relevant for digital libraries.

A call for proposals, demonstrations, posters, tutorials and workshops is now open, with a deadline for submission for all proposals as 1 May 2000.

The topics to be covered include digital library requirements, models, systems and frameworks; electronic publishing and economic issues; networking and distributing issues; social implications and issues.
