Geography workshop for Lyon

The European Commission's sixth Geographic Information and Geographic Information Systems (GI & GIS) Workshop, 'The Spatial Information Society - Shaping the Future', will take place in Lyon, France on 28 to 30 June, 2000.
The European Commission has been organising workshops to provide a forum for a review of GI and GIS projects since 1995, to establish and maintain contacts, and to enable consultation and cross fertilisation of ideas between the developers and participants.
The workshop provides an opportunity for researchers, developers and users of GI and GIS to come together to demonstrate and share new developments, exploit synergies, discuss common problems and provide input to the 5FWP. The event will cover more than just EC-sponsored projects.
