Materialica 2000 focuses on materials with innovation potential
The event is the third international trade fair for innovative materials, processes and applications with congress materials week. This international trade fair covers a wide spectrum of materials and sectors, with around 400 companies from 20 countries showing the latest developments in the materials marketplace at a concurrent exhibition.
The conference programme focuses on applications of materials with high innovative potential and will also address fundamental approaches and processing related aspects for unconventional materials.
It is structured around 13 major topics with 38 symposia. More than 750 papers will be presented and there will be lectures and keynote poster presentations. There will also be a four-day 'Materials week' which will focus mainly on metal-related subjects on the first two days and non-metal related subjects after that.
Following the response to a call for papers, Materials week 2000 will highlight the following topics:
- transportation;
- metals;
- energy;
- ceramics;
- buildings;
- polymers;
- micro- and nanotechnology.
The event will host the 2000 status report meetings of both the materials research programme 'Ma Tech' of the German Federal Government and the materials research programme 'Neue Materialien' of the State of Bavaria.
The CORDIS webservice will also have a stand at the event, where members of the helpdesk will be able to answer users' questions.
