Creating innovative spin-out companies

A conference organised by the European Commission's Enterprise DG on the creation of spin-out companies based on research results will take place in Luxembourg on 22 February.
The conference will draw on good practice in supporting the creation of spin-out companies from universities and research institutes all over the world, and discuss how these good practices can be applied across the EU and the associated States. The event is expected to provide a launch pad for a Europe-wide network of spin-out support and technology transfer professionals to be supported by the Enterprise DG's Innovation Policy Unit.
Presentations on a number of key issues will take place, for example, the roles of the public and private sectors in bridging the 'conversion' gap, recent policy initiatives and network creation and effective programme design and project management.
The conference will be of particular interest to university and research institute technology transfer professionals, spin-out support programme managers, incubator managers, early-stage investors and policymakers and researchers working in innovation and technology transfer.For further information, please consult the following web address:
