Düsseldorf, Germany will be the location for this year's IST (information society technologies) event, which will take place on 3 to 5 December.
Under the title 'Technologies serving people', the IST 2001 event will showcase IST exhibits, as well as providing a forum for discussion of the central themes of the effect of information technologies. There will also be discussions concerning the place of the IST programme within the next RTD Framework programme of the European Union.
Erkki Liikanen, European Commissioner for Enterprise and Information society will attend the event and give a number of speeches relating to the issues discussed. IST 2001 has been organised in collaboration with the ministry of economy, SMEs, energy and transport of the German state of North Rhine Westphalia.For further details, please consult the following web address:
