Stimulating intermodality through eMobility

An international conference on 'eMobility, a stimulus for intermodality', organised by Belgium's Ministry of the Flemish Community in collaboration with the European Commission and the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management will take place in Brussels on 16 and 17 October.

Conference discussions will include the following issues:

- the positioning of eMobility services in the multimodal and intermodal transport landscape
- the state of affairs of the eEurope actions for intelligent transport systems
- the search for an open communication platform accessible to transport managers, service providers and traffic/freight controllers
- a number of successful projects
- forecasts for the implementation of eMobility
- analysis and recommendations for future research and development (R&D) projects and programmes.

The event is being organised with the Feira conclusions of June 2000 in mind, which were the catalyst for a number of short term actions aimed at kick starting new technological solutions.

The conference will focus on the barriers to the large scale implementation of eMobility applications, particularly those regarding multimodal traffic and transport management.ailures slimfor further information, please contact:
