Eastern European information society event to be held in Czech Republic

An event designed to help Eastern and Central European countries form partnerships which will assist in creating an information society will take place in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, on 25 and 26 March.

The fifth ISSS conference, entitled 'Internet in public administration and self-government' will include speeches from representatives of the European Commission's Information society DG, who will be explaining how the forthcoming Sixth Framework programme will help those working in the area.

The conference aims to help bring associations of municipalities in Eastern and Central Europe involved in international cooperation in the area of information society. It will also provide an introduction of the European information society networks ELANET, Telecities and ERIS@, as well as presenting information from four national studies on electronic services at local and regional levels.

An exhibition will take place simultaneously and the conference is expected to host at least 1,500 attendees from government and public administrations.For further information on the event and its programme, please consult the following web address:
