2002 airport regions conference, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The fifth Airport Regions conference will take place from 28-29 November in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Entitled 'facing the challenge of a sustainable development ', the conference will look at the impact of airports on their regional surroundings and focus on the production of a 'managed concentration' of airport infrastructure.
Particular themes for discussion in roundtables and presentations include land-use planning and environmental impact in airport regions, diversification of the economic activity around airports, and the contribution of airports to accessibility and territorial cohesion.
Industry experts, academics, and members of regional, national and European government will attend the event. The results of research carried out by special interest groups will also be presented to delegates.
